- Apprenticeships: For those who prefer working with their hands, mining and engineering firms offer apprenticeships to train the next generation of electricians, mechanics, and plumbers.
The Difference: Graduates vs. School Leavers
It is important to apply for the right program. Internships are generally aimed at people who already possess a University Degree or National Diploma but lack workplace experience. Learnerships and Apprenticeships, on the other hand, usually only require a Grade 12 (Matric) or N-courses, making them the perfect starting point for school leavers.
